OUR TECHNOLOGY

Dental Air Abrasion

At Swarn Dental Clinic, we can use air abrasion as a technique in place of a dental drill for tooth repairs such as cracks, fractures or to replace old fillings.

Why air abrasion?

Air abrasion is used to strengthen bonding materials to teeth. It allows the dentist to conserve the surface of your natural teeth.

How does air abrasion work?

Air abrasion uses a high-pressure stream of tiny particles on your teeth. As these particles make contact with the tooth’s surface, they create a surface for bonding materials to adhere.

What can air abrasion be used for?

Air abrasion is commonly used to prepare your teeth for composites, also known as white fillings. It can also help repair discoloured teeth by removing old stains. Air abrasion can also be used to fix cracks. chips or fractures that are currently existing in teeth.

Dental Laser for Gums

At Swarn Dental Clinic, we use a soft-tissue laser for dental procedures, including gum shaping.

What is a soft-tissue laser?

A soft-tissue laser is a tool that can be used instead of a scalpel for for gum shaping, also known as gum contouring procedures. While we want to preserve your smile, there are some instances where gum removal is necessary.

What are some reasons dentist might use a laser?

A soft-tissue laser may be used to reshape gums. Soft-tissue lasers are also used to treat gum disease, remove lesions, perform biopsies and help eliminate infection in gums. Because of the precision available through the laser, it can even be used for very precise control during oral surgery.

Digital Imaging

Swarn Dental Clinic uses digital imaging and computer imaging technology to help you visualize your smile.

What is digital imaging?

Digital imaging uses computer imaging technology to help you visualize your smile before we start treatment.

How does digital imaging work?

Here are the steps we take for your digital smile:
  • 1. Lab-faricated Waxup: The teeth are precisely re-shaped in wax on a stone model of your teeth. Precision Waxups are used for bigger cases where numerous teeth or an entire arch will be restored.
  • 2. Digital Imaging: The teeth are reshaped on a digital photo through computer simulations.
  • 3. Mock-up: The teeth are reshaped in your mouth using white filling material (bonding).
  • 4. Aesthetic provisionals: Are placed on your teeth and act as temporary solutions for your cosmetic services

Magnification

Magnification is used by dentists to see areas of the mouth not visible with the naked eye.

What types of magnification do we use?

Dentistry requires clear visuals and magnifying loupes provide support for visual acuity over the naked eye. Our dentists also use telescopic lenses during appointments to see your mouth in great detail.

What are magnification loupes?

Magnification loupes are small magnification devices that are placed on a dentists face, similar to glasses, and are used to see small details very closely. These magnfications allow dentists to see small cavities, slight fractures and anything else that might be missed without magnification.

What are the benefits of using oupes?

Using magnification loupes are important patient care. They allow dentists to see into the oral cavity to make a diagnosis, or to perform on precise levels. They are able to see and inspect tooth decay at a level that would not be available without magnification.

Digital X-Rays

At Swarn Dental Clinic, we use digital x-rays along with  x-rays to provide our patients with insight into their overall oral health. Using these digital x-rays, we will review your digital dental records with you at your next appointment.

Digital Dental X-Rays

X-rays are an essential component of dental diagnosis and treatment. Some conditions might go undetected if not for the utilization of dental x-rays. Current equipment and techniques provide effective diagnostics at low levels of radiation exposure.

Digital Radiography is a form of x-ray imaging in which digital x-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film. Capturing and saving digital x-rays offers your dentist instant image of your overall smile.

We will save them electronically as part of your confidential records. Our system allows us to retrieve your images anywhere on our network. We are also able to share these records with specialists and insurance companies if required.
